VariAudio3, which is in both versions, is a precise tool for editing micro-pitch levels and vocalist transitions. The Alignment feature works to build complex harmonies and syncing them together anywhere within your track.
Apart from the automatic capabilities that save you time and effort, you can make manual revisions at each phase of the production stage. There are a few differences between Artist and Pro. This limits the creation of samples. However, if you have Artist, then you can purchase Audio Transpose separately. The workflow in Pro performs much better than in Artist with more rendering and side chaining capabilities.
Pro allows an unlimited number of MIDI, instruments, and audio tracks, while Artist has limited tracks. The Rack instruments are 64 in Pro and 32 in Artist. In Artist, you can only export your stereo output, while in Pro, you can batch export just about any sounds. Pro has up to physical inputs and outputs while Artist offers only 32, which is still a high number compared to most pro-level DAWs.
Pro also supports comprehensive notational support. Expression maps and Time Warp are also available only for Pro users. Visualize your audio and separate the vocals from any part of your audio track. Best for creating remixes, mashups, and acapella. Chop up your loops with the slicing mode. Use the move and glide features for magnetic sound effects. Pro offers a wider variety of sample sets. You saved file should not be affected by a re-install you could back up all the data to be certain and if I were you I would.
I downloaded it, and I selected it in the drop down menu. It worked in the sense that I can now see the audio level go up and down when I arm a track and strum my guitar, but I can't hear anything. All the levels are up on the alesis. It did create wav files and I can hear what I played when I open them but I can't hear anything on studio one. Also, I programmed some drums and I can no longer hear them. Start with elements. Upgrade later if you need more features.
Thanks for the help. I downloaded asio4all and it's fine now. But now I have another problem, I'm so angry I could rip someone's head off. The problem is that this damn program is so slow. At first it took a little while to load, and that's fine. But now that I'm starting to actually record stuff, it's so slow that I can literally make a cup of tea while waiting.
And the same thing goes for closing it. And then it slows down my computer and everything takes ages. Opening webpages, opening folders, anything. What's going on with this program? Over the last few weeks I've been getting used to it and if I have to abandon it and start from scratch with another program, I think I'll jump out the window. Why is studio one so damn slow? I can't work like this. This is completely intolerable and unacceptable.
I know it's free but this is ridiculous. It should not be slowing your computer down at all when its closed. I mean if your computer has low RAM, a large pagefile and a slow hard disc I can imagine that what you describe could be happening.
The program itself though would not be to be blame in that case. System specifications? Windows 7, 64 bit, plenty of ram. I've never had issues like this before with any software.
I just tried opening it. It took so long that I had to open task manager and force it to just close because it was driving me crazy. This program is a complete failure. It really is slowing down my computer after it closes. Everything goes back to normal after a short while, but it does slow it down.
But my issue is that it just takes forever to open, and when it does, and I play my song, I hear a weird distortion in time with the drums. The first time it happened I just closed it and opened it again and it was fine. But now it does it every time. Basically I have no music software. I may as well not have any. This is useless and I've spent the last few weeks of my life learning how to use it. I hid them, but obviously they're still there.
Maybe that's what's slowing it down, but then again why would that be? I mean, if those presence thingies, whatever they are, if they are part of the software and if they have a use, then it shouldn't be slowing anything down because they exist for a reason and they are supposed to be used.
I don't get it. And I only have 1 audio track with any audio in it. Everything else is mostly programmed drums and a couple of synth tracks.
